Summary:
There's a crash-inducing bug with `Image.blurRadius` on Android.
`blurRadius` is specified in JavaScript as a `float`, but it's cast to `int` before being passed to the `IterativeBoxBlurPostProcessor`. However, in `IterativeBoxBlurPostProcessor`, there is an argument precondition requiring the integer `blurRadius` to be non-zero.
Because the `== 0` condition is evaluated on the `float`, it's possible for a `blurRadius` in the range of `(0, 1)` (non-inclusive) to pass the conditional, and then be truncated to `0` and passed as an argument to `IterativeBoxBlurPostProcessor`, which will fail its precondition and crash the app.
This change works in our app, which was previously crashing.

It was just annoying me, and it has no side effects. If there are side effects, then we should fix the type and not go with empty to represent void.
Update project settings in Xcode. This code doesn't have any known side effects since the compiler assumes the type is void when not declared.

ExtraBold is a fairly common suffix in font naming. A good example is "Circe-ExtraBold". It's usually synonymous with Heavy or Black at font weight 800, as described here: https://www.webtype.com/info/articles/fonts-weights/
This fixes a regression with ExtraBold fonts introduced in d3007b0 where simply having an extrabold font will cause `weightOfFont` to choose this weight aggressively, resulting in all bold text erroneously interpreted as extrabold/heavy. This fix ensures that extrabold is detected before bold, and correctly attributed to `UIFontWeightHeavy`.

Summary:
This usage of `...` currently causes BackHandler to silently become non-functional when a `Symbol` polyfill is used.
Why?
- The `[...obj]` operator implicitly calls the object's iterator to fill the array
- react-native's internal `Set` polyfill has a load order issue that breaks it whenever a project uses a `Symbol` polyfill
- This means that when `BackHandler` tries to `[...set]` a `Set` of subscriptions the result is always an empty array instead of an array of subscriptions
Additionally it's worth noting that the current code is also wastefully inefficient as in order to reverse iterate over subscriptions it:
- Clones the `Set` (which fills it by implicitly running the set's iterator)
- Uses `[...set]` to convert the cloned set into an array (which also implicitly runs the iterator on the clone)
- Finally reverses the order of the array
----
This code fixes this problem by replacing the use of multiple Set instance iterators with a simple `.forEach` loop that unshifts directly into the final array.
I've tested this by opening the repo's RNTester app on Android and tvOS ensuring that the back handler works before changes, the application crashes when I introduce an error (to verify my code changes are being applied to the app), the back handler works and after changes.

The relevant changes in the PR are to Libraries/StyleSheet/EdgeInsetsPropType.js; the rest are just removals of FlowIgnores.
The definition of the relevant types is [here](https://github.com/facebook/flow/blob/master/lib/react.js#L262-L271).
The long and short of it is that for whatever reason, Flow is unable to realize that `ReactPropsChainableTypeChecker` is a subtype of `ReactPropsCheckType` unless we assert it. Once we explicitly hint this to the typechecker, it realizes that `EdgeInsetsPropType` is indeed a valid React PropType, and stops complaining that it isn't.

Summary:
Touch cancel events are currently being ignored by the ScrollView component. Currently scrollview responds both to scroll events and touchStart/touchMove/touchEnd events.
The reason why ScrollView listens to touchStart/touchEnd is so that it can update its `state.isTouching` param. This parameter then is used in `scrollResponderHandleScrollShouldSetResponder` to make the decision if scrollview should set the responder or not. So if `isTouching` is true (we've received touchStart) then ScrollView want to became a JS responder. This in turn is important for the case where we receive scroll events that does not necessarily need to trigger responder change, e.g. we don't want Scrollview to become JS responder if scroll events have been triggered by `scrollTo` in which case setting responder would put the whole responder system in a bogus state (note that responder can be released only by touchEnd or touchCancel, so if there is no touchEnd that follows scroll event then ScrollView will remain the responder and this would break next touch interaction).
It is therefore crucial for the ScrollView to reset `isTouching` state when touchCancel arrives, as otherwise the next scroll event would incorrectly trigger responder change.
On top of that ScrollView seems to be the only component in RN's core that registers to handle touchEnd but ignores touchCancel, which stands agains the comment added to `RCTRootView.cancelTouches` [here](https://github.com/facebook/react-native/commit/c14cc123d#diff-9cd70243bd2af75c613e29972bb1b41cR127).
This problem is difficult to test with a pure RN native app, as on Android it does not surface because of the `responderIgnoreScroll` flag that is being added to every scroll event, and it essentially makes the responder system ignore scroll events so they would never trigger responder change. On the other hand on iOS the cancel events are pretty rare. With pure RN app they can only be triggered by a "system" level interaction (e.g. when system alert dialog appears or when home button is clicked and there is a touch interaction happening). This issue becomes more prominent when RN app is embedded in a more sophisticated application that may use [`RCTRootView.cancelTouches`](https://github.com/facebook/react-native/blob/1e8f3b11027fe0a7514b4fc97d0798d3c64bc895/React/Base/RCTRootView.h#L130) method to block RNs gesture recognizers in some cases or with third-party libraries that deals with touch events like [react-native-gesture-handler](https://github.com/kmagiera/react-native-gesture-handler) that also calls into the method when native touch interaction is detected.

Summary:
The core React Native codebase already has full support for CocoaPods. However, `react-native link` doesn’t play nicely with CocoaPods, so installing third-party libs from the RN ecosystem is really hard.
This change will allow to link projects that contains its own `.podspec` file to CocoaPods-based projects. In case `link` detect `Podfile` in `iOS` directory, it will look for related `.podspec` file in linked project directory, and add it to `Podfile`. If `Podfile` and `.podspec` files are not present, it will fall back to previous implementation.
**Test Plan**
1. Build a React Native project where the iOS part uses CocoaPods to manage its dependencies. The most common scenario here is to have React Native be a Pod dependency, among others.
2. Install a RN-related library, that contains `.podspec` file, with `react-native link` (as an example it could be: [react-native-maps](https://github.com/airbnb/react-native-maps)
3. Building the resulting iOS workspace should succeed (and there should be new entry in `Podfile`)

This provides a way to customize the return type of a sync exported method, instead of just using `id`.
```
RCT_EXPORT_SYNCHRONOUS_TYPED_METHOD(NSString *, sync1:(NSString *)x)
return @"hello";
}
```
The return type needs to be a sub type of `id` - so scalars like `double` won't work (the bridge will crash).

Summary:
This is meant to show a possible route format for a persistent form of Yoga. Where previous layouts can remain intact while still taking advantage of incremental layout by reusing previous subtrees.
```c
YGNodeRef YGNodeClone(const YGNodeRef node);
```
The core of this functionality is a new API to clone an existing node. This makes a new detached node with all the same values as the previous one. Conceptually this makes the original node "frozen" from that point on. It's now immutable. (This is not yet enforced at runtime in this PR but something we should add.)
Since the original is frozen, we reuse the children set from the original node. Their parent pointers still point back to the original tree though.
The cloned node is still mutable. It can have its styles updated, and nodes can be inserted or deleted. If an insertion/deletion happens on a cloned node whose children were reused, it'll first shallow clone its children automatically.
As a convenience I also added an API to clear all children:
```c
void YGNodeRemoveAllChildren(const YGNodeRef node);
```
During insert/delete, or as a result of layout a set of reused children may need to be first cloned. A kind of copy-on-write. When that happens, the host may want to respond. E.g. by updating the `context` such as by cloning any wrapper objects and attaching them to the new node.
```c
typedef void (*YGNodeClonedFunc)(YGNodeRef oldNode,
YGNodeRef newNode,
YGNodeRef parent,
int childIndex);
void YGConfigSetNodeClonedFunc(YGConfigRef config,
YGNodeClonedFunc callback);
```
This PR doesn't change any existing semantics for trees that are not first cloned.
It's possible for a single node to exist in two trees at once and be used by multiple threads. Therefore it's not safe to recursively free a whole tree when you use persistence. To solve this, any user of the library has to manually manage ref counting or tracing GC. E.g. by replicating the tree structure in a wrapper.
In a follow up we could consider moving ref counting into Yoga.

Summary:
`Jest` allows to use fake timers and according to https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Window/requestAnimationFrame the return value should be `A long integer value, the request id, that uniquely identifies the entry in the callback list`. This allows to use `cancelAnimationFrame`.
In current implementation of `jest/setup.js`, the return value is undefined. Therefore it's not possible to cancel the animation frame request.
```
let id = null;
const registerCallback = (callback) => {
clearCallback();
id = requestAnimationFrame(() => {
id = null;
callback();
});
};
const clearCallback = () => {
if (null !== id) {
cancelAnimationFrame(id);
id = null;
}
};
```
```
jest.useFakeTimers();
const callback = jest.fn();
registerCallback(callback);
clearCallback();
jest.runAllTimers();
expect(callback).toHaveBeenCalledTimes(0); // Will be error in current implementation, since nothing is cleared. And test will pass, after MR is merged
```
This is fake example, but the real usage is when the animation frame request should be removed on `ComponentWillUnmount`.

This pull request migrates Travis to Circle and pre-starts iOS simulators / tvOS ones as advised in documentation to speed up builds. It also uses Xcode 9.0 to build and test apps.
Note that podspec test is failing and it's been failing for a while on Travis as well (since podspec has been changed to use Cxx bridge by default). I've notified few folks here of that and we are looking to fix this test, but it's not related to the scope of this PR.
Also, previously, podspec tests were only runninng on master (disabled for PR builds) where I think it makes more sense to run them on PR builds as well (all in all, we want to prevent breakage before merging). That said, I've removed `if` check to make it run on all builds.

Summary:
Queues Problem Intro:
UIManager queue is special queue because it has special relationship with
the Main queue.
This particular relationship comes from two key factors:
1. UIManager initiates execution of many blocks on the Main queue;
2. In some cases, we want to initiate (and wait for) some UIManager's work *synchronously* from
the Main queue.
So, how can we meet these criteria?
"Pseudo UIManager queue" comes to rescue!
"Pseudo UIManager queue" means safe execution of typical UIManager's work
on the Main queue while the UIManager queue is explicitly blocked for preventing
simultaneous/concurrent memory access.
So, how can we technically do this?
1. `RCTAssertUIManagerQueue` is okay with execution on both actual UIManager and
Pseudo UIManager queues.
2. Both `RCTExecuteOnUIManagerQueue` and `RCTUnsafeExecuteOnUIManagerQueueSync`
execute given block *synchronously* if they were called on actual UIManager
or Pseudo UIManager queues.
3. `RCTExecuteOnMainQueue` executes given block *synchronously* if we already on
the Main queue.
4. `RCTUnsafeExecuteOnUIManagerQueueSync` is smart enough to do the trick:
It detects calling on the Main queue and in this case, instead of doing
trivial *synchronous* dispatch, it does:
- Block the Main queue;
- Dispatch the special block on UIManager queue to block the queue and
concurrent memory access;
- Execute the given block on the Main queue;
- Unblock the UIManager queue.
Imagine the analogy: We have two queues: the Main one and UIManager one.
And these queues are two lanes of railway go in parallel. Then,
at some point, we merge UIManager lane with the Main lane, and all cars use
the unified the Main lane.
And then we split lanes again.
This solution assumes that the code running on UIManager queue will never
*explicitly* block the Main queue via calling `RCTUnsafeExecuteOnMainQueueSync`.
Otherwise, it can cause a deadlock.

Summary:
Motivation:
(SUDDENLY) There is a thing on Android called SpanWather, and their purpose is to notify "the watcher" about span-related changes in SpannableString. The idea is: some special kind of span can have some logic to prevent or tweak interleaving with some another kind of spans. To do so, it has to implement SpanWather interface.
So, EditText uses this to control internal spannable object (!) and SUDDENLY (#><) calls internal "layout" method as a reaction to adding new spans. So, when we are cloning SpannableString, we are (re)applying same span objects to a new spannable instance, and it causes notifying other spans in the string, and they notify EditText, and the EditText does relayout and... BOOM!
So, the solution is, easy, we should use SpannableStringBuilder instead of SpannableString because it does not notify SpanWather during cloning.
See:
https://android.googlesource.com/platform/frameworks/base/+/master/core/java/android/text/SpannableStringBuilder.java#101
(the first argument is `false`).
https://android.googlesource.com/platform/frameworks/base/+/master/core/java/android/text/SpannableStringBuilder.java#678
Compare with:
https://android.googlesource.com/platform/frameworks/base/+/master/core/java/android/text/SpannableStringInternal.java#43
Why? I believe because SpannableStringBuilder objects are "unfinished" by design, and documentation said: "it is the caller's responsibility to restore invariants [among spans]". As we do an exact clone of the string, that's perfectly okay to assume that all invariants were already satisfied for original string.

This is required for D5874536, wherein I'll be introducing direction-aware props for borders.
When a view's border changes due to a direction update, only the frames of its children update. Therefore, only the children `UIView`s get a chance to be re-rendered. This is incorrect because the view that's had its borders changed also needs to re-render. So, I keep a track of the layout direction in a property on all shadow views. Then, when I update that prop within `applyLayoutNode`, I push shadow views into the `viewsWithNewFrames` set.

Summary:
Currently, only `Text` supports the `allowFontScaling` prop. This commit adds support for it on `TextInput`.
As part of this change, the TextInput setters for font attributes (e.g. size, weight) had to be refactored. The problem with them is that they use RCTFont's helpers which create a new font based on an existing font. These helpers lose information. In particular, they lose the scaleMultiplier.
For example, suppose the font size is 12 and the device's font multiplier is set to 1.5. So we'd create a font with size 12 and scaleMultiplier 1.5 which is an effective size of 18 (which is the only thing stored in the font). Next, suppose the device's font multiplier changes to 1. So we'd use an RCTFont helper to create a new font based on the existing font but with a scaleMultiplier of 1. However, the font didn't store the font size (12) and scaleMultiplier (1.5) separately. It just knows the (effective) font size of 18. So RCTFont thinks the new font has a font size of 18 and a scaleMultiplier of 1 so its effective font size is 18. This is incorrect and it should have been 12.
To fix this, the font attributes are now all stored individually. Anytime one of them changes, updateFont is called which recreates the font from scratch. This happens to fix some bugs around fontStyle and fontWeight which were reported several times before: #13730, #12738, #2140, #8533.
Created a test app where I verified that `allowFontScaling` works properly for `TextInputs` for all values (`undefined`, `true`, `false`) for a variety of `TextInputs`:
- Singleline TextInput
- Singleline TextInput's placeholder
- Multiline TextInput
- Multiline TextInput's placeholder
- Multiline TextInput using children instead of `value`
Also, verified switching `fontSize`, `fontWeight`, `fontStyle` and `fontFamily` through a bunch of combinations works properly.
Lastly, my team has been using this change in our app.

- Wasn't able to use haste for ReactNativeVersion because I was getting duplicate module provider caused by the template file in scripts/versiontemplates. I tried adding the scripts folder to modulePathIgnorePatterns in package.json but that didn't help.
- Redscreen vs. warning, I think warning is useless because if the app crashes you won't have time to see the warning.

This issue has been open for a really long time, but I'm pretty sure this is the line that needed to change:
https://github.com/facebook/react-native/issues/1831
What was happening here is that `CGRectIsEmpty` returns true when either height or width is zero. With the current logic, one of those would always be zero when the parent was rendered off screen. This ensures that there the intersection be of CGSizeZero for the view to actually be clipped.
That being said, there seems to be something more complex going on here that I'm not understanding? I would think that you'd simply want to check if the child view's frame is within the bounds of the parent at all. If it was, then don't clip it. If I'm in the wrong, could someone explain this a bit more? If so, I'll fix this issue.
Using this [repository](https://github.com/jcharlet/react_native_listview_bug), this one line change fixes the issue and still clips cells as they are scrolled off screen.

The Android ImageEditingManager is inefficient and slow when cropping images. It loads the full resolution image into memory and then crops it. This leads to slow performance and occasional OutOfMemory Exceptions.
[BitmapRegionDecoder](https://developer.android.com/reference/android/graphics/BitmapRegionDecoder.html) can be used to crop without needing to load the full resolution image into memory. Using it is much more efficient and much faster.

Summary:
As I was working on mimicking iOS animations for my ongoing work with `react-navigation`, one task I had was to match the "push from right" animation that is common in UINavigationController.
I was able to grab the exact animation values for this animation with some LLDB magic, and found that the screen is animated using a `CASpringAnimation` with the parameters:
- stiffness: 1000
- damping: 500
- mass: 3
After spending a considerable amount of time attempting to replicate the spring created with these values by CASpringAnimation by specifying values for tension and friction in the current `Animated.spring` implementation, I was unable to come up with mathematically equivalent values that could replicate the spring _exactly_.
After doing some research, I ended up disassembling the QuartzCore framework, reading the assembly, and determined that Apple's implementation of `CASpringAnimation` does not use an integrated, numerical animation model as we do in Animated.spring, but instead solved for the closed form of the equations that govern damped harmonic oscillation (the differential equations themselves are [here](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harmonic_oscillator#Damped_harmonic_oscillator), and a paper describing the math to arrive at the closed-form solution to the second-order ODE that describes the DHO is [here](http://planetmath.org/sites/default/files/texpdf/39745.pdf)).
Though we can get the currently implemented RK4 integration close by tweaking some values, it is, the current model is at it's core, an approximation. It seemed that if I wanted to implement the `CASpringAnimation` behavior _exactly_, I needed to implement the analytical model (as is implemented in `CASpringAnimation`) in `Animated`.
We add three new optional parameters to `Animated.spring` (to both the JS and native implementations):
- `stiffness`, a value describing the spring's stiffness coefficient
- `damping`, a value defining how the spring's motion should be damped due to the forces of friction (technically called the _viscous damping coefficient_).
- `mass`, a value describing the mass of the object attached to the end of the simulated spring
Just like if a developer were to specify `bounciness`/`speed` and `tension`/`friction` in the same config, specifying any of these new parameters while also specifying the aforementioned config values will cause an error to be thrown.
~Defaults for `Animated.spring` across all three implementations (JS/iOS/Android) stay the same, so this is intended to be *a non-breaking change*.~
~If `stiffness`, `damping`, or `mass` are provided in the config, we switch to animating the spring with the new damped harmonic oscillator model (`DHO` as described in the code).~
We replace the old RK4 integration implementation with our new analytic implementation. Tension/friction nicely correspond directly to stiffness/damping with the mass of the spring locked at 1. This is intended to be *a non-breaking change*, but there may be very slight differences in people's springs (maybe not even noticeable to the naked eye), given the fact that this implementation is more accurate.
The DHO animation algorithm will calculate the _position_ of the spring at time _t_ explicitly and in an analytical fashion, and use this calculation to update the animation's value. It will also analytically calculate the velocity at time _t_, so as to allow animated value tracking to continue to work as expected.
Also, docs have been updated to cover the new configuration options (and also I added docs for Animated configuration options that were missing, such as `restDisplacementThreshold`, etc).
Run tests. Run "Animated Gratuitous App" and "NativeAnimation" example in RNTester.

Summary:
Fixes https://github.com/facebook/react-native/issues/15863 on master. Behavior of `onSubmitEditing` is now consistent between iOS and Android. Tapping the submit button in a TextInput dispatches the event precisely when doing so does not make a newline (when blurOnSubmit is true or multiline is false).
1. Run this app on iOS and Android:
```
// flow
import React, { Component } from 'react';
import {
StyleSheet,
TextInput,
View
} from 'react-native';
type State = {
toggled: boolean
};
type Props = {
blurOnSubmit: boolean,
multiline: boolean
};
class ToggleColorInput extends Component<Props, State> {
state: State = {
toggled: false
};
props: Props;
toggle = () => {
this.setState({
toggled: !this.state.toggled
});
}
render() {
return (
<TextInput
blurOnSubmit={this.props.blurOnSubmit}
multiline={this.props.multiline}
onSubmitEditing={this.toggle}
style={[styles.textInput, {backgroundColor: this.state.toggled ? 'blue' : 'azure'}]}
underlineColorAndroid='transparent'
/>
)
}
}
export default class App extends Component<{}> {
render() {
return (
<View>
<ToggleColorInput blurOnSubmit={true} multiline={true} />
<ToggleColorInput blurOnSubmit={true} multiline={false} />
<ToggleColorInput blurOnSubmit={false} multiline={true} />
<ToggleColorInput blurOnSubmit={false} multiline={false} />
</View>
);
}
}
const styles = StyleSheet.create({
textInput: {
height: 75,
borderWidth: 1,
borderColor: 'black'
}
});
```
2. You see four TextInputs, with each combination of the `blurOnSubmit` and `multiline` properties. For each TextInput, type some text and tap the submit button.
3. The TextInputs in this test will toggle background color when they emit an `onSubmitEditing` event. Verify the following behavior on each platform:
* blurOnSubmit && isMultiline => Submit event emitted, blurred, no newline inserted
* blurOnSubmit && !isMultiline => Submit event emitted, blurred
* !blurOnSubmit && isMultiline => Submit event emitted, newline inserted
* !blurOnSubmit && !isMultiline => Submit event emitted

Summary:
Opening a new PR for #10946 (see discussion there).
This PR builds upon #14775 (iOS ViewManager inheritance) and #14261 (more extensible Android WebView).
**Motivation**
When `WebView.android.js` and `WebView.ios.js` use `requireNativeComponent`, they are hard-coded to require `RCTWebView`. This means if you want to re-use the same JS-logic, but require a custom native WebView-implementation, you have to duplicate the entire JS-code files.
The same is true if you want to pass through any custom events or props, which you want to set on the custom native `WebView`.
What I'm trying to solve with this PR is to able to extend native WebView logic, and being able to re-use and extend existing WebView JS-logic.
This is done by adding a new `nativeConfig` prop on WebView. I've also moved the extra `requireNativeComponent` config to `WebView.extraNativeComponentConfig` for easier re-use.
**Test plan**
jacobp100 has been kind enough to help me with docs for this new feature. So that is part of the PR and can be read for some information.
I've also created an example app which demonstrates how to use this functionality: https://github.com/cbrevik/webview-native-config-example
If you've implemented the native side as in the example repo above, it should be fairly easy to use from JavaScript like this:
```javascript
import React, { Component, PropTypes } from 'react';
import { WebView, requireNativeComponent, NativeModules } from 'react-native';
const { CustomWebViewManager } = NativeModules;
export default class CustomWebView extends Component {
static propTypes = {
...WebView.propTypes,
finalUrl: PropTypes.string,
onNavigationCompleted: PropTypes.func,
};
_onNavigationCompleted = (event) => {
const { onNavigationCompleted } = this.props;
onNavigationCompleted && onNavigationCompleted(event);
}
render() {
return (
<WebView
{...this.props}
nativeConfig={{
component: RCTCustomWebView,
props: {
finalUrl: this.props.finalUrl,
onNavigationCompleted: this._onNavigationCompleted,
},
viewManager: CustomWebViewManager
}}
/>
);
}
}
const RCTCustomWebView = requireNativeComponent(
'RCTCustomWebView',
CustomWebView,
WebView.extraNativeComponentConfig
);
```
As you see, you require the custom native implementation at the bottom, and send in that along with any custom props with the `nativeConfig` prop on the `WebView`. You also send in the `viewManager` since iOS requires that for `startLoadWithResult`.
**Discussion**
As noted in the original PR, this could in principle be done with more React Native components, to make it easier for the community to re-use and extend native components.

**Problem:**
It was observed that in [this code path](https://github.com/facebook/react-native/blob/master/ReactAndroid/src/main/java/com/facebook/react/views/scroll/ReactHorizontalScrollView.java#L292) (i.e. horizontal, paging-enabled scroll view) if you tried to programmatically call the scrollTo method within ~1s of the onMomentumScrollEnd event (which should only be called after all scrolling has ended), the scrollView would scroll to the new location, and then scroll BACK to the original location.
For example, assume you had released the scrollView at location B, and the nearest page boundary is A. Then, 1000ms later, you call scrollTo position C. The order of operations would be:
1. Begin scrolling to A from position B (as it is the nearest page boundary)
2. Reach position A
3. Fire onMomentumScrollEnd
4. 1000ms later call scrollTo C
5. scrollView scrolls to C
6. scrollView scrolls BACK to position A (for no apparent reason).
**Reason:**
I suspect this is because the [smoothlyScrollTo](https://github.com/facebook/react-native/blob/master/ReactAndroid/src/main/java/com/facebook/react/views/scroll/ReactHorizontalScrollView.java#L292) will continue to animate towards A, but the [scrollEvents will not fire](https://github.com/facebook/react-native/blob/f954f3d9b674b13977f722bc3b8dc6c1b99fe6c7/ReactAndroid/src/main/java/com/facebook/react/views/scroll/OnScrollDispatchHelper.java#L45) as they are too close to each other. So the true order of events is:
1. Begin scrolling to A from position B (as it is the nearest page boundary)
[begin smoothlyScrollTo]
[scroll towards position A]
[mActivelyScrolling is true]
2. Reach position A
[mActivelyScrolling is true]
[scroll towards position A]
[mActivelyScrolling is false, as there is another scrollEvent, but because it is close enough to the same location it is ignored]
3. Fire onMomentumScrollEnd
4. 1000ms later call scrollTo C
[scroll towards position C]
5. scrollView scrolls to C
[scroll towards position A as the original smoothlyScrollTo animation was never completed]
6. scrollView scrolls BACK to position A.
This is an untested hypothesis, but seems to explain the behavior, and the solution is more semantically correct anyway. If there is an easy way to rebuild the android binaries happy to test it myself! Just let me know!
**Solution:**
Move the mActivelyAnimating outside the mOnScrollDispatchHelper.onScrollChanged helper, because the HorizontalScrollView event should be considered to be animating so long as onScrollChanged events are being fired.

**PR changes**
The RCTText class originally overrode the accessibilityLabel and returned the raw text of the class ignoring if the accessibilityLabel was set explicitly in code.
Example:
<Text accessibilityLabel="Example"> Hello World </Text> // returns "Hello World" instead of "Example" for the accessibility label
My update checks if the super's accessibilityLabel is not nil and returns the value else it returns the raw text itself as a default to mirror what a UIKit's UILabel does. The super's accessibilityLabel is nil if the accessibilityLabel is not ever set in code. I don't check the length of the label because if the value was set to an empty purposely then it will respect that and return whatever was set in code.
With the new changes:
<Text accessibilityLabel="Example"> Hello World </Text> // returns "Example" for the accessibilityLabel
This change doesn't support nested <Text> components with both accessibilityLabel's value set respectively. The parent's value will return.
Example:
// returns "Example" instead of "Example Test" for the accessibility label
<Text accessibilityLabel="Example">
Hello
<Text accessibilityLabel="Test">
World
</Text>
</Text>
The workaround is just to set the only the parent view's accessibilityLabel with the label desired for it and all its nested views or just not nest the views if possible.
I believe a bigger change would be needed to support accessibility for nested views, for now the changes I have made should satisfy the requirements.

Summary:
Abstract class `ReactBaseTextShadowNode` was decoupled from `ReactTextShadowNode` to separate two goals/roles:
* `ReactBaseTextShadowNode` represents spanned `<Text>` nodes, which can bear text attributes (both `RCTText` and `RCTVirtualText`);
* `ReactTextShadowNode` represents anchor `<Text>` view in Yoga terms, which can bear layout attributes (`RCTText` and `RCTTextInput`).
`ReactVirtualTextShadowNode` now inherits `ReactBaseTextShadowNode`.
The same architectural changes was applited to view managers.
Why?
* This is just a better architecture which represents the nature of this objects.
* Bunch of "negative" logic which turn off excessive features for some suclasses was removed.
* Memory efficiency.
* Now we can improve `<TextInput>` component using right inheritance. Yay!

Summary:
This is a breaking change that tells Metro to look at only the project's .babelrc file. Previously it would look at .babelrc files under node_modules and would run into issues because it didn't have the version of Babel nor the plugins/presets that `node_modules/randompackage/.babelrc` wanted. So as a workaround, people would write a postinstall step that deletes `node_modules/**/.babelrc`, which worked well. This flag (`getEnableBabelRCLookup = false`) has the same effect and hopefully fixes one source of cryptic bugs people run into.
To use the old behavior, create a config file named `rn-cli.config.js` with:
```js
module.exports = {
getEnableBabelRCLookup() {
return true;
},
};
```
Go under node_modules, modify a used module to have a dummy .babelrc (`{"plugins": ["dummy"]}`) and ensure the JS bundle still loads.

```
Object {
"testUri": "relative/path/to/images/image1.png",
}
in the Jest snapshot instead of always being 1 returned by RelativeImageStub. This change makes it possible to test conditional asset loading in components.
The problem with this change is that it will probably break a lot of existing snapshots, but that should be easily fixed when a project updates to a new version of React Native by running `jest -u` to update all snapshots.
A component can have conditional asset loading based on its props, this logic would be nice to test with Jest snapshots. This problem has been discussed in https://github.com/facebook/jest/issues/2838.
* **Who does this affect**: Everyone using `Image` in Jest snapshots
* **How to migrate**: Running `jest -u` will update the snapshots, the snapshots should be reviewed that they are correct.
* **Why make this breaking change**: It enables testing of conditional asset loading.
* **Severity (number of people affected x effort)**: Low.
Content offset was broken because on initial render contentSize is {0,0} so any positive offset is lost. Also inset top/bottom and left/right were inversed , this led to bad initial scrolling offset when using contentInset. This fixes it by making sure contentSize is actually measured (not {0,0}. I guess it's possible that the content is ACTUALLY {0,0} but in that case I don't think it really matters).
**Test plan**
Tested that a scrollview has proper scroll position when specifying contentOffset. Also tested that it works well with contentInset.
* **Be welcoming:** We strive to be a community that welcomes and supports people of all backgrounds and identities. This includes, but is not limited to members of any race, ethnicity, culture, national origin, colour, immigration status, social and economic class, educational level, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, age, size, family status, political belief, religion, and mental and physical ability.
* **Be considerate:** Your work will be used by other people, and you in turn will depend on the work of others. Any decision you take will affect users and colleagues, and you should take those consequences into account when making decisions. Remember that we’re a world-wide community, so you might not be communicating in someone else’s primary language.
* **Be respectful:** Not all of us will agree all the time, but disagreement is no excuse for poor behavior and poor manners. We might all experience some frustration now and then, but we cannot allow that frustration to turn into a personal attack. It’s important to remember that a community where people feel uncomfortable or threatened is not a productive one.
* **Be careful in the words that you choose:** we are a community of professionals, and we conduct ourselves professionally. Be kind to others. Do not insult or put down other participants. Harassment and other exclusionary behavior aren’t acceptable. This includes, but is not limited to:
* Violent threats or language directed against another person.
* Discriminatory jokes and language.
* Posting sexually explicit or violent material.
* Posting (or threatening to post) other people’s personally identifying information (“doxing”).
* Personal insults, especially those using racist or sexist terms.
* Unwelcome sexual attention.
* Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behavior.
* Repeated harassment of others. In general, if someone asks you to stop, then stop.
* **When we disagree, try to understand why:** Disagreements, both social and technical, happen all the time. It is important that we resolve disagreements and differing views constructively.
* **Remember that we’re different.** The strength of our community comes from its diversity, people from a wide range of backgrounds. Different people have different perspectives on issues. Being unable to understand why someone holds a viewpoint doesn’t mean that they’re wrong. Don’t forget that it is human to err and blaming each other doesn’t get us anywhere. Instead, focus on helping to resolve issues and learning from mistakes.
This code is not exhaustive or complete. It serves to distill our common understanding of a collaborative, shared environment, and goals. We expect it to be followed in spirit as much as in the letter.
## Diversity Statement
We encourage everyone to participate and are committed to building a community for all. Although we may not be able to satisfy everyone, we all agree that everyone is equal. Whenever a participant has made a mistake, we expect them to take responsibility for it. If someone has been harmed or offended, it is our responsibility to listen carefully and respectfully, and do our best to right the wrong.
Although this list cannot be exhaustive, we explicitly honor diversity in age, gender, gender identity or expression, culture, ethnicity, language, national origin, political beliefs, profession, race, religion, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, and technical ability. We will not tolerate discrimination based on any of the protected characteristics above, including participants with disabilities.
## Reporting Issues
If you experience or witness unacceptable behavior—or have any other concerns—please report it by contacting us via opensource@fb.com. All reports will be handled with discretion. In your report please include:
* Your contact information.
* Names (real, nicknames, or pseudonyms) of any individuals involved. If there are additional witnesses, please include them as well. Your account of what occurred, and if you believe the incident is ongoing. If there is a publicly available record (e.g. a mailing list archive or a public IRC logger), please include a link.
* Any additional information that may be helpful.
After filing a report, a representative will contact you personally. If the person who is harassing you is part of the response team, they will recuse themselves from handling your incident. A representative will then review the incident, follow up with any additional questions, and make a decision as to how to respond. We will respect confidentiality requests for the purpose of protecting victims of abuse.
Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately. If an individual engages in unacceptable behavior, the representative may take any action they deem appropriate, up to and including a permanent ban from our community without warning.
