This changes the audio mixer sound type used for movie audio from plain to
speech. The engine would apply speech volume to the plain sound type, but this
sound type is also used by the AdLib emulator. Volume control of the movie and
AdLib emulator audio is now independent.
This simplifies the way the MusicPlayerXMI uses the Miles MIDI drivers by using
the common superclass MidiDriver_Multisource. User volume scaling is moved to
the MIDI driver for this player.
This changes the return type of the Miles AdLib MIDI driver factory function to
the recently introduced superclass MidiDriver_Multisource, which allows for
easier use of multisource functionality for consumers of the factory function.
Create a new flag --enable-windows-console to build with console
output on MinGW. The default behavior will be to enable the console.
The current plan is to continue to offer the users both options for
release builds - ScummVM and ScummVM (noconsole).
Whenever the text console is enabled, Windows console will be added
by default. This is to prevent a situation where ScummVM will not load
any visible debug console on hotkey or error.
This should make the green flashes from biohazard barrels work correctly. Also
corrected the "fade from grey" which is actually fade from white, as VGA colors
are 0-63 not 0-255 in each channel.
This has been discussed on the mailing list. While there wasn't much
input, the consensus was that it should be allowed for consistency with
std::string.
While most engines don't do this, it is possible that some engines will
break because of it. (A few have already been fixed.) But it will also
repear the currently broken ADL engine. For now, the warning() message
will remain so that it can be investigated on a case-by-case basis.
In Macintosh b/w mode, there really is no such thing as palette
manipulation. Any color changes have to be handled by the renderer.
Instead of marking the palette as dirty, changes to the shadow palette
trigger a full redraw of the screen.
At the time of writing, I'm only aware of two things that use this: The
lightning flashes at Castle Brunwald in Indiana Jones and the Last
Crusade, and the scene where the dragon finds Rusty in Loom. I have
verified that both of these seem to work correctly.
This is currently only (partially) implemented for the 16-color Mac
versions of Loom and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. The text is
still drawn in color, since that's rendered separately, but I'm
committing this now while it still works.
Bump save version. New games will be UTF-8, the old ones will still be correctly decoded from kISO8859_1. Tested and adapted all targets (not the fan translations).
