You can capture text from the real world with a nearby iPhone or iPad and insert it into the editor.
In the CotEditor app
on your Mac, open a document.
From the Edit menu or the contextual menu in the editor, choose Insert from iPhone or iPad, then choose how you want to capture the text.
The Camera app opens on the device you selected. Capture the text in one of the following ways:
Take Photo: Take a photo of the text you want to insert, then tap Use Photo.
Scan Documents: Place the document in view of the camera and wait for the scan to finish, or capture it manually. Drag the corners to adjust the scan, then tap Keep Scan and Save. Although Scan Documents can import multiple pages as a single document, CotEditor recognizes only the first page.
After you confirm the image on the device, it appears in CotEditor on your Mac. If text is detected in the image, all detected text is highlighted in the preview.
To insert the detected text at the insertion point in the editor, click Insert below the image.
If nothing appears in the Insert from iPhone or iPad submenu, make sure your iPhone or iPad is turned on and available to your Mac.
This feature uses Appleās Continuity Camera. For the requirements for using Continuity Camera on your Mac, see the Apple Support article: Continuity Camera: Use your iPhone or iPad to scan documents or take a picture on your Mac.
