Peter Abbondanzo af0a76cf5f Add support for blur and focus on View (#51570)
Summary:
Pull Request resolved: https://github.com/facebook/react-native/pull/51570

As the title suggests: adds support strictly to `View` components on Android for `onFocus` and `onBlur` events. This is especially helpful for apps that respond to controller or remote inputs and aligns with existing support for the `focusable` prop.

In order to make this change cross-compatible with text inputs, `TextInputFocusEvent` has been deprecated in favor of the `BlurEvent`/`FocusEvent` types now available from core. Their type signatures are identical but `BlurEvent`/`FocusEvent` should be the type going forward for all views that intend to support focus/blur. Text inputs intentionally do not forward information about their state upon focus/blur and docs specifically call out `onEndEditing` as a means of reading state synchronously when blurring. Therefore, the changes to the native side to remove the event type specifically for text inputs is not breaking.

Changelog: [Android][Added] - Support for `onFocus` and `onBlur` function calls in `View` components

Alex Hunt 701859b397 Deprecate *EventData types in favour of *Event (#50215)
Summary:
Pull Request resolved: https://github.com/facebook/react-native/pull/50215

Backwards compatible updates to `CoreEventTypes`, `Image`, `Switch`, `TextInput` to align types and reduce root exports.

The effects of this change can be seen in `packages/react-native/types/__typetests__/index.tsx` (smoke test file against current manual TypeScript definitions).

Under Flow, exports on each `*EventData` type are directly removed (unreferenced).

Changelog:
[General][Deprecated] - Deprecate `*EventData` types on `Image`, `Switch`, `TextInput` components. These can be substituted for `*Event`, e.g. `NativeSyntheticEvent<ImageLoadEventData>` becomes `ImageLoadEvent`.

Mykhailo Kravchenko 0154372b93 feat: Manage keyboard shortcuts visibility of TextInput (#47671)
Summary:
**iOS** does offer a native property for **UITextField** called `inputAssistantItem`. According to the [documentation](https://developer.apple.com/documentation/uikit/uitextinputassistantitem), we can hide the **"shortcuts"** by setting the `leadingBarButtonGroups` and `trailingBarButtonGroups` properties to empty arrays.

I propose adding a new property for **TextInput** in **React Native**, which would set these native properties to empty arrays. This new property could be called `disableInputAssistant` or `disableKeyboardShortcuts` and would be a `boolean`.

Developers can manage this behavior (the redo & undo buttons and suggestions pop-up hiding) after applying these native props.

Dong-Hwan Kim 1dcbf41725 fix: add missing submitBehavior prop type and mark blurOnSubmit prop as deprecated in typescript declaration file of TextInput (#45588)
Summary:
Hi, I just found out that https://github.com/facebook/react-native/pull/33653 adds a new prop in `TextInput` that enables multiline `TextInput` be able to submit without blurring.

It does that by adding a new prop called `submitBehavior` which accepts `'submit' | 'blurAndSubmit' | 'newline'`:
https://github.com/facebook/react-native/blob/700b403e06fdcbcde2a4ade9570eb572431487ea/packages/react-native/Libraries/Components/TextInput/TextInput.js#L195

It also marks `blurOnSubmit` prop as deprecated since it can now be handled from `submitBehavior`:
https://github.com/facebook/react-native/blob/700b403e06fdcbcde2a4ade9570eb572431487ea/packages/react-native/Libraries/Components/TextInput/TextInput.js#L896-L908

However, that PR doesn't update `TextInput.d.ts` file which results Typescript to complain that the type doesn't exist:
<img width="760" alt="text_input_error" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/2235cb36-1e4e-4ec9-a8b0-c09728a3336f">

So this PR adds and updates the types in declaration file to support them in Typescript

Jakub Grzywacz 1e68e48534 feat: selectionHandleColor prop on Android (#41092)
Summary:
This PR addresses the problem raised in the https://github.com/facebook/react-native/issues/41004 issue.

The current logic is that `selectionColor` on iOS sets the color of the selection, handles, and cursor. On Android it looks similar, while it doesn't change the color of the handles if the API level is higher than 27. In addition, on Android there was an option to set the color of the cursor by `cursorColor` prop, but it didn't work if the `selectionCursor` was set.

Saad Najmi 452bf0ff06 Remove <Webkit/Webkit.h> import in RCTConvert.h (#39794)
Summary:
This PR is in response to https://github.com/facebook/react-native/pull/39758#discussion_r1344839022 .

`RCTConvert.h` currently takes an import of `<Webkit/Webkit.h>` for... one enum: `WKDataDetectorTypes`. This has a few problems:

1) RCTConvert is JS engine agnostic, it shouldn't be depending on Webkit
2) As far as I can tell, this code is dead, we also define (and use) the UIKit equivalent `UIDataDetectorTypes`.

Let's just combine the two, update some JS typing, and get rid of the Webkit header import.

James Maxell Eroy 8e36cc0293 Add onPress prop (#39701)
Summary:
Pull Request resolved: https://github.com/facebook/react-native/pull/39701

TextInput already uses Pressability, but doesn't expose the onPress prop. Link:https://github.com/facebook/react-native/blob/main/packages/react-native/Libraries/Components/TextInput/TextInput.js#L1381-L1414.

Currently TextInput only exposes the onPressIn() and onPressOut() props from Pressability. While onPressOut() can serve the same purpose as onPress() in most cases, it doesn't fare well with PanResponder...say a swipe gesture implemented using PanResponder.

When the pointer/cursor exits the hit test bounds of TextInput, onPressOut() will be triggered even though the desired behavior could be that we only want to invoke the event handler when the user lifts their finger from the screen (while still in the hit test bounds of the TextInput).

antliann deb81853f5 Add missing type for TextInput.readOnly in Typescript (#39281)
Summary:
The `readOnly` prop is available in the `TextInput` implementation (see [usage https://github.com/facebook/react-native/issues/1](https://github.com/facebook/react-native/blob/main/packages/react-native/Libraries/Components/TextInput/TextInput.js#L1646), [usage https://github.com/facebook/react-native/issues/2](https://github.com/facebook/react-native/blob/main/packages/react-native/Libraries/Components/TextInput/TextInput.js#L1671)), but the corresponding Typescript type is currently missing. Those who use Typescript get an invalid prop error when using the `readOnly` prop on `TextInput`.

Having this prop type included in TypeScript would fix the bug above and also would be beneficial for consistency and comprehensive type support.

Notably, this prop is also included in the Flow types [here](https://github.com/facebook/react-native/blob/main/packages/react-native/Libraries/Components/TextInput/TextInput.flow.js#L814).
