Valentin Shergin cc07baa87e Fabric: "Attempt to mutate a sealed object." is now an assert (not exception)
Summary:
This is a debug-only feature that simply should be an assert. When it triggers in debugger and bubbles to some random exception catch block which makes it impossible to understand was exactly it happens. Making it an assert will stop debugger exactly where it happens.

Valentin Shergin fa773a1446 Fabric: Introducing ShadowNode traitCasts
Summary:
`traitCast` is a special form of static_cast that checks additional requirements (similar to `dynamic_cast`) before performing the cast. We will use that in many places in the coming diffs.

Restructuring the class hierarchy in the previous diff finally allows us to do static casts among ShadowNode and LayoutableShadowNode and other classes (previously it wasn't allowed because of lack of common base class).

Why we don't want to use `dynamic_cast`:
* It's expensive (and we need to do the cast on the hottest fragments of the framework). (See: (1) http://www.stroustrup.com/fast_dynamic_casting.pdf and (2) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARYP83yNAWk Herb Sutter & proposal of `down_cast`).
* It's code-size inefficient, whereas `static_cast` has zero runtime and code-size overhead.
* Removing `dynamic_cast` will allow us finally to opt-out `RTTI` (additional code size and perm wins).

1. Replace ASSERT_* with EXPECT_*. Assert is a fatal assertion. Expect is non-fatal assertion. So if assert fails, tests do not continue and therefore provide less information.

Valentin Shergin a09ab53692 Fabric: Use ComponentDescriptorParameters as an actual parameter of ComponentDescriptor constructor
Summary:
This diff changes the signature of ComponentDescriptor constructor to make it simpler and easier to support: now all arguments are passed via struct that contains all these arguments as fields.

Now the ComponentDescriptor constructor accepts three arguments one of which is optional. This causes some confusion and the possibility of bugs in all subclasses that needs to implement a custom constructor. Mostly because in every case we need to ensure that the constructor:
 * Accepts and pass down all parameters/arguments;
 * Accepts the right types of those parameters (shared vs weak pointers, references vs values).
 * Accepts all thee arguments and pass them (including flavor!). We failed this point several times.

Overal that makes the code simpler and allows changing the set of parameters relatively easy. (There is no plan for it!)
Look at the LOC balance: less code!

The general idea is to cover the normal props use-cases and then add a few abnormal cases and some errors, to make sure nothing crashes.

The final test uncovers an infinite loop in RawProp parsing.

Valentin Shergin 059142935a Fabric: Introducing ShadowNodeTraits
Summary:
Quite often in the Fabric codebase, we need to iterate on a list of shadow nodes and perform some work depending on the exact type (or kind) of shadow node we have. Today, we exclusively use RTTI to test for exact type. The problem here is that RTTI is not only expensive in terms of code size (we are moving towards removing RTTI), it's expensive in terms of CPU cycles. (Don't mistake RTTI/dynamic_cast overhead with dynamic dispatch overhead!)

`dynamic_cast` has it's own advantages, of cource: it's simple and straight-forward and does not require additional configuration. On the other side, it requires knowledge about exact class relationship configuration and knowing the exact name of the class.

ShadowNodeTraits is the generalized solution for storing predefined traits right inside ShadowNode object and check/set/unset them efficiently and in a particular-class-independent manner.

This diff only implements it in general and switching storing an internal flag of ShadowNode inside the trait collection to save some space (and for illustration purposes as well).

In the coming diff, we will see how this approach allows tackling the real, non-trivial problem.

In addition to the concept, this diff implements some convenience infra, such as `ConcreteShadowNode::BaseTraits()` static method that allows designating intrinsic-to-a-class traits declaratively.

Valentin Shergin 6a10feacda Fabric: Passing EventDispatcher as a weak pointer everywhere
Summary: Storing a strong shared pointer to `ComponentDescriptor` can cause a memory leak. Therefore we enforce all call sides and params to be weak pointers. The only Scheduler preserves a retaining pointer to it (to prevent preliminary deallocation).

Valentin Shergin 6f97733bb8 Fabric: Changing ComponentName type alias from std::string to char *
Summary:
ComponentName is used by many core component of React Native, such as ComponentDescriptor, ShadowNode, ShadowView and so on. In all those cases this value represents the actual name of the component which came from `concreteComponentName` template parameter of ConcreteShadowNode. In all of those cases, it's raw `char const *` type. So, we don't need to use owning representation of the string (std::string) in all those places.

The only exception from this is a part where we receive the name of the component from JS side. In this case, the source string comes from JS and has to be analyzed as a character sequence to find corresponding ComponentDescriptor.

In my experiments, 20% of the time during diffing is spent on copying (this) `std::string`.

Valentin Shergin 874f656435 Fabric: Rethinking of prop parsing infra
Summary:
This diff reimplements the prop parsing infrastructure in a part where it interacts with RawProps value.

Local synthetic tests show that the new way is 3x faster but the actual production result is quite unpredictable. MobileLab tests show some improvements about 10-20 ms on iPhone 6.

In short, the new way is faster because it inverts the lookup order and heavily relies on actual data types (and their properties) that we use. The old approach required about 130 hash-map lookups (where the key is `std::string`) to parse a single *Props object.
The new approach prepares concrete-props-specific tables with indexes of coming values ahead of time,  iterates over raw data and puts it into those tables, and then performs a lookup in a very efficient manner.

Valentin Shergin c3ecae0db4 Fabric: Using small_vector for SharedShadowNodeList
Summary:
SharedShadowNodeList is one of the core collections in Fabric. Every ShadowNode has one, it's used intensivly during diffing and so on.
Usually, nodes have a very few children, so using `small_vector` instead of regular `vector` should save us a lot of memory allocations.

Valentin Shergin 90e49d759c Fabric: Using a ref to ComponentDescriptor instead of clone function inside ShadowNode
Summary: That should reduce the size of `ShadowNode`, make an instantiation of shadowNode a bit faster, and make `clone` operation a bit faster because simple dynamic dispatch is faster than std::function invocation. It also should help a bit with code size.

Valentin Shergin 9842e39019 Fabric: folly::dynamic was replaced with RawValue in prop-parsing infra
Summary:
Our long-term plan is to completely illuminate `jsi::Value`-to-`folly::dynamic` serialization step in prop parsing process improving performance and memory pressure. At the same time, we don't want to introduce a hard dependency in application code to JSI because it exposes direct access to VM and prevents parsing some data that come *NOT* from JSVM.
RawValue is an extremely light-weight (hopefully fully optimized-out) abstraction that provides limited JSON-like and C++-idiomatic interface.

The current particular implementation is still using `folly::dynamic` inside, but I have fully JSI-powered one which will replace the current one right after we figure out how to deal with folly::dynamic-specific callsites. Or we can implement RawValue in a hybrid manner if a code-size implication of that will be minimal.

Valentin Shergin 67a79010ca Fabric: Simplified way to specialize ComponentName in ConcreteShadowNode class template

Previously, all ConcreteShadowNode subclasses had to override `getComponentName()` function to specialize a name of the component. And often it was all that those subclasses do. Now, it's a template argument; and many ShadowNode classes can be created as oneliners via *just* specializing  ConcreteShadowNode template.

Unfortunately, C++ does not allow to use `std::string`s or string literals as template arguments, but it allows to use pointers. Moreover, those pointers must point to some linked data, hence, those values must be declared in .cpp (not .h) files. For simplicity, we put those constants in Props classes, (but this is not a strong requirement).

Valentin Shergin e906d4cdc9 Simplifying child nodes management in YogaLayoutableShadowNode

This diff consists of many interdependent changes which support one simple idea: YogaLayoutableShadowNode is now using YGNode children to iterate on them (it previously relied on `ShadowNode::getChildren()`). All other changes are just an unavoidable consequence of that. Hence we don't need to filter child nodes every single time when we do layout anymore! The logic around `clone callback` is also drastically simpler now.
The new approach also implies that `LayoutableShadowNode` and `YogaLayoutableShadowNode` don't use `shared_ptr`s to refer to ShadowNode objects because new relationship does not imply ownership. No more `SharedShadowNode` objects in those two classes.

Valentin Shergin d49ebbcf62 Fabric: All *EventHandlers were renamed to *EventEmitter
Summary:
Using `EventHandlers` name was a bad idea, and I cannot tolerate it anymore.
The worst part of it is that when you have a collection of `EventHandlers` objects you cannot use plural word to describe it because `EventHandlers` is an already plural word.

And, this object is actually an event emitter, the thing on which we call events.

Valentin Shergin dd3a6eda70 Fabric: Devirtualizing of props parsing infra
Summary:
This diff contains several tight to each other changes (which can/should not be split into several diffs):
 * The props parsing/conversion process was de-virtualized: we don't use virtual `apply` method to parse props anymore. Instead, we use old-fashioned constructors.
 * All fields of Props classes which represent props values were marked as `const` which make impossible to modify them after the objects were created (even if we have non-const value-of/pointer-to the whole Props object). Those fields are also `public` now.

Valentin Shergin 368388bfc8 Fabric: Introducing LocalData concept
Summary:
LocalData might be used to communicate some infomation between `ShadowNode`s
and native component views.

We will use it soon to store (and transmit to mounting layer) prepared for rendering attributed text in Text component.

Valentin Shergin bd91eaf664 Fabric/Text: ShadowNode::clone() - dynamic self-cloning mechanism
Summary:
The previous approach simply didn't work. :(
As you might notice, in previous implementation of ViewShadowNode::cloneAndReplaceChild we used `ViewShadowNode` class for cloning `childNode`, and this is incorrect becasue `childNode` might be instance of any class.

Valentin Shergin 47c0ab91a5 Fabric: Using shallowSourceNode() inside ViewShadowNode::cloneAndReplaceChild()

We have to call shallowSourceNode() in all cases of cloning which were not caused by UIManager instructions,
otherwise the diffing alogorith might produce incorrect mutation instructions.
